FAQs

Your first therapy session is a chance for us to get to know each other and for you to share what’s bringing you to therapy. There’s no pressure to dive into everything at once—this is your space, and we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you.
Here’s what you can expect:
A Welcoming Space – Whether in person or online, my goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment.
A Conversation, Not an Interrogation – I’ll ask some general questions to understand your situation, but the session is led by you.
Exploring Your Goals – We’ll discuss what you’d like to get out of therapy, whether that’s support, coping strategies, or deeper self-understanding.
No Pressure to Have All the Answers – If you’re unsure where to start, that’s okay. I’ll guide the conversation in a way that feels natural.
Next Steps – By the end of the session, we’ll have an idea of whether you’d like to continue and what direction we can take moving forward.
This first session is about understanding, not problem-solving—we're laying the foundation for meaningful progress. If you have any questions before we meet, feel free to reach out!

Most of my sessions are offered via Telehealth (Phone or Video), but I also provide Walk and Talk Therapy for in-person sessions in the community. This is available in Newcastle, Maitland, the Central Coast, and the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

No, I currently do not accept medicare, mental health care plans, or private health insurance.

The sessions are all currently at the fixed rate of 100 dollars (200 for couples). This amount is often cheaper than what you would pay in a gap fee to a mental health professional with a mental health care plan. There is no limit on the number of sessions you can access when seeing me.
I also offer a free 10-minute consultation is an opportunity for us to connect before committing to a full session. It’s a brief, no-obligation call where you can ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and learn more about how I approach therapy. This is a great way to see if I’m the right therapist for you, and it gives you the chance to ease any concerns or uncertainty about starting therapy. You can book this consultation at any time through my website. It’s a simple, relaxed conversation to help you feel confident in your next step.
If you are approved for counselling through NSW Victims Services, there is no cost to see me—sessions are fully funded by the NSW Government.
